This speaks to me more than I wish it did. I really makes sense why I react the way I do.

Sure, my parents didn’t react the way the first person does to the main person. But they did say similar things:

“Always so clumsy!” “It’s like you want to break it on purpose.” “Now I have to get another one! It’s not like you have the money to replace it.”

I’m so afraid the instant I do something wrong. When I misplace something or when I break something… I know the yelling will come and I immediately break down. I begin to cry even though to most people it looks like such a small issue.

I have loving parents and I still suffer from this. Don’t think it can’t happen to you because you have a ‘happy home life’. Words hurt no matter what.
